Terms of Service

Last updated: April 16, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Docket platform operated by Docket Inc. ("Docket," "we," "us," or "our"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Docket, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are using Docket on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms.

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use Docket.

2. Description of service

Docket is an AI-powered document management platform for trade and service businesses. The service includes:

  • Document ingestion from email (Gmail) and manual uploads
  • AI-powered document categorization and field extraction
  • Secure file storage and organization
  • An AI chat agent for querying your stored documents
  • Customer and project management tools

3. Account registration and security

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

4. Gmail integration and permissions

When you connect your Gmail account, you authorize Docket to access your email using the following scopes:

  • gmail.readonly — to read your emails and download attachments for document ingestion
  • gmail.labels — to create and manage a "Docket" label in your inbox

You can revoke this access at any time through your Google Account permissions page or through Docket's settings. Revoking access will stop future email ingestion but will not delete documents already processed.

Docket's use of Gmail data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Your content and intellectual property

You retain full ownership of all documents you upload or that are ingested from your email. By using Docket, you grant us a limited license to process, store, display, and analyze your documents solely to provide and improve the service.

This license terminates when you delete your content or close your account. Docket does not claim ownership of your content.

You represent that you have the right to upload and process all documents you provide to Docket. If you upload documents containing third-party personal data, you are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights or consent to do so.

6. AI processing and disclaimers

By using Docket, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Your documents will be processed by AI systems (including OpenAI's API) for extraction, categorization, and chat functionality
  • AI outputs — including extracted fields, categories, and chat responses — are provided "as is" and may contain errors or inaccuracies
  • You are responsible for verifying any AI-generated information before relying on it
  • AI chat responses are informational only and do not constitute professional, legal, financial, or tax advice
  • Docket is not liable for any decisions made based on AI-generated outputs

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload or process illegal content or content that infringes third-party rights
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service
  • Use the service to process documents you do not have the right to access
  • Circumvent any security measures or access controls
  • Use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its operation
  • Share your account credentials with unauthorized users

8. Fees and payment

Docket may offer free and paid plans. Paid plans are billed according to the pricing displayed at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use after a pricing change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

9. Service availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to Docket. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service (or any part of it) with reasonable notice. In the event of discontinuation, we will provide a reasonable period for you to export your data.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Docket is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.

In no event shall Docket Inc. be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Docket Inc. and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.

12. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You can close your account through Docket's settings or by contacting us at support@believelabs.com. Upon termination, you will have 30 days to export your data. After that period, your data will be permanently deleted per our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Docket will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice in the application. Continued use of Docket after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
